High * Contrast, or A * C, is the duo Lee and Lou. Born in São Paulo and involved in the underground scene that permeated the art school where they met, in 1996, they started taking over the streets of their city in the mid-2000s.
The not-very-rational inspiration of the pair brings together references from various stages of life, references that become clearer as they become the object of work. In them, they seek the strangeness of things that are taken out of their common place, reread and replaced.
In addition to the streets, the art of A * C has been in several group shows around the world: Barcelona, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Glasgow, London, Melbourne and Paris. They also participated in important urban art publications and major festivals, with emphasis on the first edition of the giant Cans Festival (2008), in London, where the couple traveled at the invitation of artist Banksy.
At this moment, they are working on a series – “La Buena Mala Vida” – which explores the joys, torments, the strange and picturesque of human relationships, especially in relationships between couples.
Lee and Lou also have in common a beautiful family with children and dogs.
